Prewashing
Always prewash your reusable sanitary pads before first use.

Due to the nature of the fabrics, the pads will increase in absorbency with washing and will reach their maximum absorbency around 5 washes (10 for hemp).

Storing and Preventing Stains
The best method to prevent stains from setting is to rinse your pad in cold water until the water runs clear and then store in a small waterproof wet bag.

Washing
Wash at 40ºC as higher temperatures can set a stain.
Use powder rather than liquid detergent for a better clean.
Don’t use any fabric softener.

Pads can be added to normal household laundry but add a separate rinse first a before adding to the rest of your laundry.

Do NOT use laundry softener as this will decrease the absorbency over time by leaving a residue on the fabrics.

Drying
Ideally air dry your pads. This helps to keep your pads in better condition and is more environmentally friendly. A “sock” airer is ideal for drying them and can be hung inside in winter for quick drying.
